Religious Networking against Human Trafficking
The International Union of Women Superiors General (UISG) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), an intergovernmental organization with 125 member states, held a Congress on Religious Networking against Human Trafficking, June 18-21, 2009 at the De La Salle Brothers’ Institute in Rome. Sr. Bernadette Sangma, F.M.A., a member of the Salesian Family consultative body, was one of the organizers of the Congress.

Human Trafficking is a crime against humanity. It involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transfering, harbouring or receiving a person through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting them.
Every country in the world is affected by trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims. |
