Ireland — Contract signed for Salesian ACRE Project:
Green Technology Projects
(Celbridge) - On May 4, 2010, Fr. Patrick Hennessy, S.D.B., rector of Celbridge, signed the contract for phase 1 of the Salesian ACRE Project with Adrian Burke of Footprint Developments, a contracting firm from Rathkenny, Co. Meath.
This phase will cost nearly $350,000.00 and includes ground work and services, pathways, and the first of the Project buildings with social and educational facilities, office and meeting areas and external beds for growing vegetables, flowers and fruit crops.
The signing was witnessed by Denis Moore, architect with the Project. Also present were Ken McEvoy, member of the ACRE core team and Graham Mooney co-director of Footprint Developments.
Work on the site began on May 10th and was expected to take between six and nine weeks to complete. The local community people are pleased to see the project moving ahead and providing opportunities to young people. |
