Haiti — Archbishop Kébreau Honored
by Notre Dame University for Service to the Community
(Cap Haïtien) Archbishop Louis Kébreau, S.D.B. of Cap Haïtien was selected by the Catholic University of Notre Dame in the United States as the 2011 recipient of the Prize for Services to the Citizens of Latin America. The award ceremony took place in Cap Haïtien on December 8, 2011.

Haiti Update
In the area of education, Haiti’s needs are enormous. Supported by national and
international partners, the SDB have done their best and they want to do more. The greater the
difficulties the greater their ambitions! Through Rinaldi Foundation, the Salesians try to assure
their partners of today and tomorrow of their commitment with the "schooling dream’’ of
thousands of Haitian children and youths.

Message of the Rector Major
to the Salesians of Haiti
(ANS – Rome) – On the occasion of the anniversary of the tragic earthquake on January 12, 2010, the Rector Major, Fr. Pascual Chávez Villanueva, has sent a supportive message to Fr. Sylvain Ducange, Superior of the Vice Province of Haiti, expressing his personal closeness and that of the whole Congregation to the people of Haiti and renewing the commitment of the Salesians to continue with the massive enterprise of re-construction.
